  Who's Next

(Tom Lehrer and Skeleton, London — Norman Parkinson, 1959)

First we got the bomb, and that was good,'Cause we love peace and motherhood. Then Russia got the bomb, but that's okay,'Cause the balance of power's maintained that way.Who's next?
France got the bomb, but don't you grieve,'Cause they're on our side (I believe).China got the bomb, but have no fears,They can't wipe us out for at least five years.Who's next?
Then Indonesia claimed that theyWere gonna get one any day.South Africa wants two, that's right:One for the black and one for the white.Who's next?
Egypt's gonna get one too,Just to use on you know who.So Israel's getting tense.Wants one in self defense."The Lord's our shepherd," says the psalm,But just in case, we better get a bomb.Who's next?
Luxembourg is next to go,And (who knows?) maybe Monaco. We'll try to stay serene and calmWhen Alabama gets the bomb.Who's next?P.s No nation is ever 100% peace-loving, Unfortunately!:( Just John Lennon loved 100% peace xxx... but  we have lots of war hungry nation, Tom Lehrer has more guts than all of you - he is a free and real man who has been exposing you, who love wars!:D

P.s 'Absolutely wonderful, Satirical folks we need more Tom Lehrers in this world. Not only was he off the charts genius, but man talk about playing the piano! More so, his topics are very relevant and would be 'politically incorrect' by some today. C'mon, free speech. Someone today should make music like he did, many of his songs still feel , very relevant today.   comic talent and great musicality...  That's how they *always* greet people they don't see every day: "Gee, it's good to see ya!"  Viva Dr Lehrer! you are an brilliant satirist.'
(T. L's more great stuff "Pollution" ,  "When You Are Old And Gray", "Send the Marines')
A world without nuclear weapons would be less stable and more dangerous for all of us.
                                    Margaret Thatcher
(I don't agree!;D)
