Maurice Williamson's 'big gay rainbow' speech
Williamson, speaking in support of the Marriage Amendment Bill,
which allowed gay couples the right to legally marry.
"Several people commented on international social media that, in the countries they came from, no politician would have the courage to make fun of a priest in a televised parliamentary speech."
This cartoon was published in a popular New Zealand paper the day after the marriage equality bill passed it's first reading.
